Makgeolli is gaining more and more popularity domestically and internationally. Makgeolli exports to the U.S are big business, and now it seems Chicago will be the home to Americas very first brewery! It could be opening as early as July, and if you’re worried about authenticity, all the raw ingredients such as the rice and nuruk will be shipped from Seoul, and makgeolli expert from Korea will oversee operations. It’s good news for makgeolli lovers Stateside, and hopefully it will lead to more makgeolli expansion.
