Makgeolli Cocktail Contest

Create a cocktail using any grocery store makgeolli as the main ingredient.  Take a photo of the beautified (or not so beautified) final product and type up the recipe you created.  The recipe must include the cocktail name ingredient list (with measurements) and the how to.  Send your creation to  Your e-mail must include: your name, your phone number, your creations name, a photo of your creation and anything else that you think we need to know.

Unfortunately, we would love to try all of your makgeolli cocktails (really).  But, unless you deliver them to our door…which would be nice…we can’t.  So, once the submission deadline has past, we will post all submissions in a MMPKorea facebook photo album.  Each submission will have their cocktail photo, name and recipe posted.  The rest is up to the audience.  Think about what they want to try the most.  What sounds the most delicious?  What would they like to dive into on a hot sunny summer day or rainy day for that matter!?

This is quite a special prize :).  Our next MMPKorea meeting will be on July 21st at a makgeolli cocktail bar.  The winners spot is currently reserved for that evening!  You also get bragging rights and a nice write up about you and your makgeolli cocktail on our makgeolli heroes page (it doesn’t exist yet, but it is in the works and we know some pretty awesome makgeolli heroes…imagine being on that list!).

You are required to submit your makgeolli cocktail by July 22nd at 10.00PM.  On July 23rd facebook liking/voting will commence.  The voting will last until 8am on Friday, July 27th.  The winner will join us at our meeting on the 11th…maybe for some makgeolli cocktails!!!!

Makgeolli Mamas & Papas Launch

On the 9th of May, friends and supporters of Makgeolli Mamas & Papas came out to the fabulous Muldwinda (물뛴다) for the first meeting of a rebranded MMPKorea.  We laid out our exciting plans for the future, tried out a variety of different makgeollis and feasted on delicious dubu kimchi and bindaeddeok.  It was a fabulous evening and we are even more inspired to make MMPKorea the best it can be.  See you all at the next Makgeolli bowl!
